The company is looking to recruit an experienced, industry-based Electronics Engineer to support activities within R&D and Manufacturing departments. This is a Rugby site-based position. The role encompasses electronics support, compliance, and development functions.
The position will require broad ranging knowledge of electronic components and assemblies, and to provide support for existing and future products. These include high-power and high voltage switched-mode power supplies, and control electronics, all using Litron’s own proprietary designs.
You will be responsible for:
1. Specifying, implementing, and testing design updates to PCBs, wire harnesses, mains circuits, and other electrical items for new and existing laser systems.
2. Liaising with Manufacturing, Quality team, Supply Chain team and subcontractors to understand current electronics issues and help find solutions.
3. Developing EMC testing procedures for our in-house semi-anechoic chamber and performing EMC testing of laser systems.
4. Supporting designs to achieve compliance with EMC and other machinery directives.
5. Designing new electrical items as required.
6. Managing part obsolescence.
Minimum Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
* Broad knowledge of hardware (analogue and digital) electronic engineering with minimum 7 years’ experience.
* Knowledge of high voltage components and mains circuits (power supplies, DCDC converters, inverters, chargers, breakers, relays etc).
* Experience with fault-finding in complex electronic systems.
* Knowledge of BS EN 61326-1, and BS EN 61010-1 or similar.
* Use of ECAD software for schematic capture, PCB layout, wiring diagram generation.
* Ability to learn new concepts and skills.
* Good written and oral English.

The successful applicant will also be an analytical, organised thinker with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment and have good time/project management skills.
