Grade UE04: £25,433 – £28,081 per annum, pro rata
Fixed term: Up to 12 months (maternity cover)
Part time: 0.8 FTE (28 hours per week)
The School of Engineering seeks to appoint a Graduate School Administrative Assistant. This position will report to the Graduate School Manager within the Graduate School Office at the University of Edinburgh.
The Opportunity:
The post holder will provide support for the day-to-day operations of the Graduate School in Engineering. They will provide administrative support for all postgraduate research activities from recruitment and admissions through to graduation.
The successful applicant will be educated to standard grade level or equivalent, with relevant work experience, will have good knowledge of Microsoft applications and experience of record keeping of various types of data.
This role is UE04 and is available for up to 12 months.
Your skills and attributes for success:
* Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan own workload, and take into account the workloads of others.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and experience of using email and the internet in a work environment.
