About the role
Develop, direct, and execute quality assurance and quality control programs across our products, supply chain, and operations to support business growth and delivery of the highest quality products. Lead on quality issues, managing the non-conformance process from identification through to resolution with effective stakeholder management and communication.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Ensure a robust and phase-appropriate Quality Management System (QMS) is in place for the design, development, and manufacturing of products.
* Collaborate with the Procurement and R&D/Product Management teams to ensure quality and consistency across products and supply chain, conducting in-house quality assurance checks on pre-production samples.
* Determine, define, and agree on quality test procedures, standards, and specifications to minimize design and functionality quality issues.
* Work with the Compliance Manager and R&D to ensure compliance aspects for our products are managed.
* Ensure adequate Supplier Technical Agreements are established to foster good communication with supplier Quality Departments regarding quality standards.
* Audit suppliers on product quality, including onsite and offsite auditing.
* Monitor and report the quality performance of suppliers and products against agreed targets.
* Manage, lead, and develop the NCM (non-conformance) process for prompt action, tracking, resolution, and reporting of all NCMs to stakeholders.
* Analyze returned product trends and drive corrective action back through manufacturing, as necessary.
* Conduct impartial investigations of opportunities for improvement and customer complaints.
* Liaise with clients and their quality and compliance executives to ensure a strong relationship of mutual support and customer service.
* Manage and develop the quality team, ensuring their effectiveness and professional growth.
* Identify skills gaps through audits and provide training or resources as needed.
* Engage staff with the QMS and nurture a positive culture of quality.
* Assist and support staff with quality queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
* Proven experience in leading a QA/QC function effectively.
* People management and team building experience, including managing and developing people.
* Experience managing multiple stakeholders and communicating effectively at all levels.
* Experience working within a Global Supply chain.
* Demonstrable experience with product life cycle management systems.
* Planning and implementing Quality Management System (QMS).
* Experience using CAPA corrective and preventative action methodology.
* Experience with injection moulded and electronic components.
* Product compliance experience with an engineering/manufacturing background.
* Structured data gathering, analysis, and reporting methodology.
* Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PPT) for gathering, analyzing, and presenting findings.
* Providing regular and ad hoc reports for Exec and Board review.
Educational Qualifications
Qualifications that demonstrate proficiency in English Language and Maths.
Working Conditions
* Office environment.
* Full time role - 40 hours per week.
* Hybrid working policy applicable.
