Job Summary:
We are looking for a project designer to develop designs and take projects from point of order to completion. You will be responsible for all of the design work, ensuring that it meets all technical requirements, customer requirements, budget and timeframes. Typical projects range from small bespoke pieces of furniture to large interior fit-outs. You should know how to set out for installation and be able to communicate effectively with both the customer and our installation team. Ideally we are looking for someone who has had practical experience on the bench, who fully understands how furniture is made and can identify issues from the drawing and come up with solutions. Full training on our software will be provided.
Duties:
* Work from tender packs and design drawings, fully understanding the specification and timescales of a job.
* Ensure all materials and finishes detailed in the specification are identified correctly.
* Source specialist suppliers for any non-stock materials or products.
* On receipt of order produce detailed working drawings using 3D modelling software
* Ensure full project management.
Key Skills:
* Experience in woodworking / joinery / manufacturing
* Experience of 3D/parametric modelling preferable, plus experience of CAD Software - we use TopSolid and full training will be given.
* Knowledge of CNC routing and woodworking related procedures would also be advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
* Good attention to detail.
* Team focused.
* Knowledge of furniture making processes an advantage.
* Full Clean UK Driving licence.
