Shift Manager
Salary – £52,867 to £74,635 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours – 37.5 hours per week, shift of 12 hours per day, 07:00am to 19:00pm or 19:00pm to 07:00am

The Shift Manager at FCC Environment is responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of all operational staff, contractors and visitors at the Allington Energy from Waste Facility. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Shift Manager will facilitate and supervise the day-to-day operational activities safely, efficiently and in line with FCC Environment's policies and procedures.
The Shift Manager will lead operational improvements to increase performance, while liaising with maintenance, cleaning, and input/output teams. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
* Manage the day-to-day operations team to include Enhanced and Operations Technicians and Support Technicians, Input/Output Operators, and any additional agency workers required to safely operate the facility.
* Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with FCC Environment policies, procedures, and legislation.
* Operate the facility in a safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient manner. Management responsibilities for direct reports to include direction, co-ordination, and routine performance appraisals.
* Administer FCC Environment Safe System of Work, co-ordinate and control contractors to ensure work is performed in accordance with the Site Safety Rules.
* Carry out Safety Rules duties authorised up to an SAP 2 status. Perform the role as Safety Rules Outage Co-ordinator.
* Take a lead role in monitoring and improving operational H&S performance, including safety inspections, plant area responsibilities, and participation in routine H&S meetings and forums.
* Take an active role in operational improvements to increase performance while liaising with the Shift Operations, Maintenance, Cleaning, and Input/Output Teams.
* Develop, implement, and maintain the facility's operational procedures and risk assessments. Co-ordinate plant maintenance activities to include removing plant from service, providing a safe system of work, and returning the plant to service.
* Support operational improvement processes, management of corrective actions, defect notifications, and rectification.
* Management and control of operational consumable materials.
* Lead workplace investigations and operational root cause analysis activities. Carry out technical incident reporting for plant trips.
* Support the development and implementation of operational strategies and recovery plans. Support operational compliance with internal and external standards.
* Deliver and manage company or specialist training, manage new employee competency. Support operational recruitment activities.
* Support the training and development of the shift team. Trained First Aider.
* The ability to operate and interrogate complex Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
* During emergency situations, perform the duties of the incident controller and co-ordinate with the emergency services.
* Ensure appropriate standards of housekeeping are maintained.
