We are now seeking a passionate, qualified SEND Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The Role:
As a SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons for students with a wide range of SEND, ensuring that they are fully included in the classroom and supported to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the SENDCo, teaching staff, and other professionals to provide tailored support, strategies, and interventions. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of students and help them develop the skills they need for future success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons for students with SEND, ensuring that each child's individual learning needs are met.
* Use a range of strategies and resources to support students with various disabilities and learning difficulties, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Work closely with the SENDCo, teaching staff, and external professionals to create and implement personalised learning plans (PLPs) and interventions.
* Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback to students and parents, and adapting teaching approaches as needed.
* Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
* Promote social, emotional, and academic development, supporting students with their personal and social skills.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of whole-school SEND strategies and policies.
* Liaise regularly with parents and carers to provide updates on progress and discuss any concerns.
* Participate in professional development and contribute to the development of best practices within the SEND department.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* A degree in Education or a related field (Special Education is an advantage).
* Proven experience teaching students with SEND across various key stages (Key Stage 3 and 4, and/or Key Stage 5 depending on experience).
* Knowledge and experience of using effective strategies and interventions to support students with SEND.
* A commitment to inclusive education and fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
* An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to ensuring the welfare of children.
