Teaching Personnel works closely with a specialist school providing tailored education for students with complex SEMH needs. The school is committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our dedicated staff works collaboratively to meet the unique needs of our students, helping them overcome challenges and reach their full potential. In this role, you will work closely with teachers, specialists, and other support staff to provide personalised support to students. This will include assisting with academic work, helping students develop key life skills, and managing social and emotional challenges. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our students feel understood, valued, and supported.
Key Duties:
* Support students with SEMH and SEN in both one-on-one and small group settings.
* Assist with the delivery of individualised educational health care plans and behavioral support strategies.
* Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
* Help students develop social skills, build self-esteem, and manage emotions.
* Provide classroom support, including helping with lesson planning and resource preparation.
* Assist in managing challenging behaviors calmly and effectively, using de-escalation techniques.
* Collaborate with teachers and external professionals (therapists, social workers) to ensure holistic student support.

* Experience working with children with SEMH, SEN, or similar needs (desirable but not essential).
* Patience, empathy, and a calm approach to supporting children facing emotional and behavioral difficulties.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
