Quantity Surveyor – Construction & Contracting Are you a skilled Quantity Surveyor looking for an opportunity to play a key role in the commercial success of projects? Do you have a strong background in contract management, cost control, and financial reporting? We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial and contractual management of projects from inception to final account. You will work closely with project teams and support functions, building strong relationships with clients and the supply chain to ensure successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities: ✅ Prepare applications for payment, including valuation of variations and loss and/or expense. ✅ Agree interim payments with clients and track payment notices. ✅ Develop project budgets in collaboration with Contracts Managers and the Operations Director. ✅ Manage monthly cost/value reconciliation (CVR) reporting. ✅ Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial projections. ✅ Issue subcontractor enquiries, analyse quotations, place orders, process interim payments, and agree final accounts. ✅ Support tender production and commercial submissions. ✅ Ensure contractual obligations are met and advise on commercial risks. ✅ Work with Contracts Managers to identify, record, and manage variations and delays. ✅ Conduct site visits to monitor potential variations and ensure accurate site records are maintained. ✅ Lead, manage, and motivate teams, providing clear expectations and feedback. ✅ Develop and maintain strong client relationships to enhance the company’s reputation. ✅ Produce commercial reports that provide a true reflection of contractual performance, risks, and opportunities. What We’re Looking For: Qualifications – Degree in Quantity Surveying or a professional qualification (MRICS or MCIOB). Experience – Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within the demolition or enabling works sectors. Commercial Awareness – Strong understanding of financial and contractual matters, with the ability to communicate them clearly. Contract Knowledge – Familiarity with JCT Standard Forms of Contract and similar agreements. Analytical & Organisational Skills – Ability to monitor budgets, forecast costs, and ensure financial targets are met. Communication & Leadership – Effective at liaising with stakeholders at all levels and managing teams. IT Proficiency – Confident in using Microsoft Office and financial systems. Driving Licence – Full UK driving licence required.
