As our Project Engineer, you’ll lead and manage the full lifecycle of multi week work across Work Management and Outage, working in partnership with our key internal and external stakeholders. The scope of the Projects you’ll lead in this role support the delivery of safety related plant outages and outage island project delivery to meet the requirements of the Hartlepool’s Generation and Defueling targets.

What you’ll be doing
As part of your role in successful leading and managing multi week projects and stakeholder relationships you’ll ensure all actions taken are fully compliant with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. As the Project Engineer you will establish the baseline Scope, Quality, Schedule, and Cost for your projects in line with MTP and ALR2 budgets as well as reporting accurately to reflect the Project position.
Other key areas of the role:
1. Secure the required resource to meet project requirements, ensuring all involved are SQEP.
2. Develop and conduct effective execution strategies to help in achieving the overall project objectives.
3. Ensure effective project change control is implemented when significant changes to scope, schedule or cost are identified.
4. Maximise learning opportunities making full use of OpEx.
5. Keep your stakeholders both internal and external informed and updated with performance, issues, and risks throughout.
6. Ensure effective risk and issue mitigation.
7. Leading and coaching your project team to maximise efficient and effective delivery.
Who you are
You will have experience with Project Engineering or Project Management within an engineering, or complex environment. Ideally, we are looking for someone who is not just a Project Manager, we are looking for someone who has an engineering and hands on background, so you can fully understand the processes and be able to be hands on still, hence why we are looking for a Project Engineer.
You’ll hold a HNC or equivalent in an Engineering or relevant discipline.
It would be advantageous if you also hold a relevant certification, for example APMQ
