Second Chance Learning Academy – New Vacancy – Trustee specialising in Fundraising
Who are you?
You are someone with a wealth of experience and exceptional track record of fundraising in the charity sector, through accessing trusts, grants and foundations, designing strategies to garner public donations, or ideally both! You have a passion for giving back and contributing to the continued success of a charity that supports second chance learners across Nottingham City. You want to use the knowledge and skills you’ve developed to inform and mould the fundraising strategy to then be implemented by an incredibly passionate and motivated team.
Who are we?
The Second Chance Learning Academy (SCLA) Charity empowers individuals from all walks of life to succeed and thrive, through a wide range of learning and support.
We recognise that not everyone is thriving or able to reach their potential. Our focus is on supporting self-determination, and helping individuals develop the core capabilities needed to thrive in all areas of life. At SCLA, we believe in the transformative power of personal learning and development. We see extraordinary potential in everyone, regardless of their starting point. All members of our team consistently go above and beyond to ensure learners get what they need.
What will you be doing?
Your primary role will be supporting the development of the SCLA fundraising strategy. You will be required to attend quarterly board meetings and fulfil responsibilities associated with being the trustee of a charity. If you have capacity to contribute more through direct work with those working in the charity day to day, that would be advantageous, but not a requirement. You’ll be joining a board already comprised of 5 individuals with a wealth of knowledge and experience from a variety of departments and sectors. The need for a Trustee with specific fundraising experience comes from having gained charitable status in October 2023, following 9 years of supporting communities in Nottingham as a company limited by guarantee.
Second Chance Learning Academy are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and we are striving to have a workforce reflective of the communities we serve.
If you’d like to apply, please send an up-to-date copy of your CV and a couple of sentences outlining why you’d like the role to Beverley Burton, Founder and Chair of Trustees, at beverley@scla.org.uk.
If you just want further information or you’d like to ask a few questions you can contact Beverley on 07973 138345.
