We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a Veterinary Receptionist at Seadown Totton Surgery.
Location: This role is mainly based at our Totton branch, where there will only be one Receptionist on shift at a time, but there will be a requirement to also cover at our site in Hythe.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 23.2 hours per week
Shift Pattern:
Tuesday - 08:30-14:00 (Hythe)
Wednesday - 13:30-18:30 (Totton)
Thursday - 13:30-19:30 (Hythe)
Friday - 08:30-13:30 (Totton)
Saturday - 08:30-17:30 (30-minute unpaid lunch break) on a rolling 1 in 5 week basis at Hythe

About the role:
This Receptionist position provides the below opportunities to be more hands on and involved with the patients;
* Aiding/assisting clients with weighing their animals
* Assisting the Vet in some consults with animal handling
* With Totton being a small branch practice, with one consulting room, it can often mean that the team get to know clients (and patients) better
Further day-to-day duties of the role will include:
* Answering phones and booking appointments
* Responding to queries via phone, in person and email
* Registering new clients
* Completing insurance forms
* Dispensing medications
* Taking payments
* And most importantly; providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice
What we're looking for in our Veterinary Receptionist:
* Previous Receptionist experience is essential, veterinary experience is a plus!
* Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
* An excellent communicator with strong empathy
* Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
* A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
