Job Summary: To be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of prescription requests for the entitled population, liaising effectively with all relevant personnel. Duties can include, but are not limited to, the processing of repeat prescriptions in electronic and hard copy format, including online requests. In addition, the post holder will be required to support the multidisciplinary team, ensuring the strategic objectives of the organisation are met. Main Duties and Responsibilities: The following are the core responsibilities of the Repeat Prescriptions Administrator. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels: Process requests for repeat prescriptions generated via the NHS App, the online access system, emails, post and telephone requests in line with local protocols and national guidelines. Deal with general telephone enquiries related to repeat prescriptions from patients, colleagues, care home staff and the public. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with service users, colleagues and external healthcare and pharmacy providers. Maintain high standards of communication and professionalism, recognising the need for alternative methods of communication. Ensure all records are kept up to date and accurate in a timely manner. Ensure all complaints, comments and suggestions are dealt with in accordance with local policies and procedures. Work independently, monitoring workload and seeking support from senior staff when required. Demonstrate a flexible and adaptable attitude. Maintain strict patient confidentiality. Support the training of colleagues and new staff in your area. Be proficient in managing prescriptions via SystmOne.
