An exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Accounts Controller to join an award-winning family business.
Established in 2009, Somerset Motorhome Centre has grown to be a leading regional specialist in the sale of quality used motorhomes and campervans, with an annual turnover in excess of £25m.
The role encompasses all aspects of the finance function and will suit someone with experience in a similar role. Part of a small team, you will be working alongside the sales and service teams to provide the business with financial, HR, and general office support to enable the delivery of a first-class service to our customers.
You will either be qualified to at least AAT standard or qualified by experience and have a good knowledge of Sage or similar accounting software. Able to work independently and meet deadlines, you will have excellent attention to detail and time management skills. A knowledge of margin scheme VAT would be useful.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain daily financial records, including invoices, expenses, and bank reconciliations.
2. Process bank payments, manage accounts payable & receivable.
3. Prepare and submit Margin Scheme VAT.
4. Preparation of quarter accruals & prepayments.
5. Maintain staff records, including staff holidays and contract amendments.
6. Prepare monthly payroll figures.
7. Liaise with external accountants and auditors.
Requirements
1. Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
2. Proficiency in Sage or similar accounting software.
3. Knowledge of Margin Scheme VAT.
4. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
5. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Hours: 30 per week, hours to be negotiated.
Pay: Depending on experience.
Job Type: Permanent.
Pay: From £25,000.00 per year.
