Simply Education is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a passionate History Teacher to join a specialized SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) provision on the outskirts of Boston. This role is set to commence in September 2024 and offers a competitive starting salary of £30,000 per year. This position is offered on a temporary to permanent basis.
Role Overview:
As a History Teacher within our SEMH provision, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experiences of children with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your expertise will help create a supportive and engaging learning environment, enabling each student to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and effective History lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH.
Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) to address the unique needs of each student.
Employ strong behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and conducive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with the team, including SENCOs, teaching assistants, and pastoral staff.
Foster a supportive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes student well-being and academic progress.
Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working with children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) or SEMH.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to handle challenging behaviour with patience and professionalism.
A genuine passion for teaching History and making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant teaching qualifications and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
