Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to hold an outpatient case load. If you are seeking to develop your skills in the area of neurology/ rehabilitation whilst maintaining a quality work/life balance then this post could be just what you are looking for. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Neurology nurse with excellent initiative and communication skills to join our well-established multi-disciplinary team.
You will have excellent opportunities to develop specialist knowledge and skills working as a member of our integrated team. You will be actively involved in acute assessment of Neurology inpatients and also be involved in discharge planning. In addition to a varied clinical caseload, you will be responsible for the supervision and upskilling of nursing and medical colleagues to enhance the patient pathway and improve communication in an integrated way. You will have opportunities to contribute to service development projects and clinical audit.

Person specification
* Demonstrates ability to give great patient care but also to lead a team and manage resources.
* Evidence of ability to support the senior team, to work as a team player and to lead junior nurses and MDT colleagues.
* Shows skills to competently assess and manage the Neurology cohort of patients and can work collaboratively to put timely plans in place to keep patients safe.
* Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly to patients and colleagues.
* Evidence leadership, initiative and excellent decision making, not just in terms of clinical situations but also when dealing with colleagues or with patients and their families.
* Post Graduate Qualification or equivalent experience such as Experience of caring for ITU /Rehabilitation/Neurology patients.
* Experience and knowledge of Neurological conditions.
* Evidence of teaching.
* Ability to work across professional teams and organisational boundaries.
* Ability to perform in stressful and complex situations.
