Job Title: Automation QA Engineer (Playwright)
Location: Remote – UK
Contract Status: Full-time / Permanent Staff - 40 hours per week Mon-Fri

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Automation QA Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using Playwright, ensuring the quality of our applications. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA Engineers to identify areas for automation and contribute to a continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Test Automation Development: Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright for web applications.
* Test Execution: Execute automated tests, analyse results, and report issues, ensuring that test failures are appropriately investigated and resolved.
* Test Planning & Strategy: Collaborate with QA leads to define automation strategies and develop test plans and test cases to ensure coverage of critical areas.
* CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test scripts into CI/CD pipelines to ensure ongoing quality during software development.
* Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA Engineers to understand business requirements and develop test automation around critical features.
* Bug Identification & Reporting: Identify, log, and track bugs through the entire development cycle, including collaborating with development teams for quick resolution.
* Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews for automated tests to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
* Performance & Scalability Testing: Contribute to performance testing efforts by designing and automating tests for load, stress, and scalability.
* Experience:
* 3+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation.
* 1+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright or similar testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, etc.).
* Technical Skills:
* Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (required for Playwright automation).
* Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
* Experience with version control systems like Git.
* Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and automated testing for APIs.
* Testing Methodologies:
* Solid understanding of QA processes, methodologies, and best practices in an Agile environment.
* Knowledge of various types of testing such as functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Familiarity with Docker or containerized environments for test automation.
* Knowledge of continuous testing and monitoring practices.
* Experience with mobile automation testing is a plus.
