Due to the retirement of the current CEO, we are looking for a compassionate and value-driven leader to steer RAD into the next chapter.
About Rural Action Derbyshire (RAD)
We are a well-established charity based in Matlock and we are seeking an experienced and visionary leader with a good understanding of rural issues. Set up in 1924, we aim to improve the lives of those living and working in Derbyshire to have access to services and jobs so that no-one should be unfairly disadvantaged because they live in a rural area.
Our ambition is to address rural disadvantages, ensuring our rural communities are sustainable, vibrant, and accessible to everyone regardless of age, background, or income. We make our beneficiaries' lives better by offering advice, support, and training to individuals and communities, as well as initiatives such as providing transport options to help people get to work, and running an oil buying scheme to help keep energy costs down for more isolated properties.
We have a highly motivated and knowledgeable staff team who use their unique talents and skills to provide a wide range of services. We are committed to making a difference to the lives of people in our rural communities.
About the Role
The next CEO will provide strategic leadership and vision for RAD, working closely with the Board of Trustees and staff team to drive RAD’s mission and objectives. The CEO will be responsible for leading the organisation's strategic direction, ensuring sustainability, and representing RAD externally to strengthen partnerships and raise the charity’s profile.
It is essential that the new CEO can demonstrate a deep understanding of the unique challenges rural communities face, ensuring RAD’s work is impactful and community-centered. The new CEO must have experience of successfully managing a team of staff, securing new income streams, and the development and delivery of services.
RAD is seeking someone who is both compassionate and supportive, with an inspirational ability to lead by empowering those around them. If you are a resilient, values-driven leader with a passion to make a difference, then you may be the person we are looking for.
We offer a great benefits package with enhanced annual leave. As an employer, we are committed to flexible working; the next CEO will have the autonomy to plan and manage their own diary and time, taking into account the needs of their role and the staff team. At RAD, we respect everyone's individual identity, celebrate difference, and encourage applications from all candidates irrespective of background.
