Key Responsibilities: Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring that lessons are engaging, accessible, and challenging for all abilities. Differentiation: Adapt teaching materials and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and those with varying levels of ability. Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills and understanding of physical education. Extracurricular Activities: Lead and organise extracurricular activities such as sports clubs, teams, and school sports events. Health and Wellbeing Education: Promote the importance of physical health and fitness, encouraging students to lead healthy and active lifestyles both inside and outside of school. Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment, managing student behaviour effectively and supporting students’ personal development. Department Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the PE department to develop and improve the curriculum, share resources, and promote the school’s sports and fitness goals. Mentoring and Support: Support the personal development of students, encouraging teamwork, discipline, and resilience through sports and physical activity. Essential Qualifications & Skills: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Degree in Physical Education or a related field. Experience teaching PE at secondary level, ideally including GCSE and/or A-level PE. A strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for PE and current trends in sports education. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students in physical activity. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. A passion for sport and physical education, with the ability to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential.
