About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Build Manager to lead and deliver Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) projects across Scotland. As a Build Manager, you will be a crucial part of our team, providing leadership, direction, and development to the Delivery Team. You will work closely with the Program Manager to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities: Quality & Safety Leadership: Champion excellence in Quality, Health, and Safety practices across all aspects of the build, ensuring high standards are maintained both within Comex 2000 and among our contractors. Data Management: Oversee all build-related data in systems such as GIS and DepotNet, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Project Delivery: Manage the end-to-end delivery of FTTP projects within the build area, ensuring contractor performance meets time, cost, and quality targets. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for escalations related to contractual matters, working closely with the Commercial Team. Governance & Control: Conduct governance meetings with suppliers to maintain control and oversight of the project’s progress. Risk Management: Implement robust management processes for risk mitigation, forecasting, and budget control to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Documentation: Ensure all completion documentation and As-Built information is accurate and handed over within the agreed SLA. Cost Efficiency: Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities across the delivery team. Supplier Management: Oversee the operational relationship with all suppliers, ensuring they meet contractual KPIs, technical specifications, and cost targets. Multi-Stream Management: Manage multiple work streams for deploying FTTP and Metro networks. Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Head of Build, highlighting potential issues and implementing risk mitigation and recovery plans as needed. Budget Ownership: Own and manage the city budget, tracking spend to ensure adherence to financial targets. Local Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local councils and highways authorities to facilitate smooth project delivery. Requirements Proven experience delivering medium to large multi-site projects, managing capital budgets up to £10M. Extensive telecoms and IT service management experience, ideally within a global client context. Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate and lead teams. Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to engage executive-level clients and stakeholders. Thorough understanding of contract management and reporting. Civil Engineering qualifications/Fibre Optic certifications. Valid NRSWA Street Works Supervisor Certification (Units 1, 10-16). Experience in telecoms or similar utilities sectors. Proven ability to identify and deliver additional project opportunities.
