An exciting opportunity has arisen in our department for a band 4 technician. Accuracy checking qualification or willingness to undergo accreditation within 12 months of commencement is essential. Current students (PrPT) close to completion are also encouraged to apply.
The role is varied and constantly evolving to meet the needs of the service, which delivers pharmaceutical care to community hospitals, mental health inpatient wards, mental health community teams and specialised clinical services across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. You will work with a diverse range of staff and patients, so must be able to work collaboratively to deliver the highest quality of care, and to encourage the development of others, the service and yourself. Currently there are no weekend duties, bank holiday working or late nights. You may be expected to work some Saturday mornings in the future.
Main duties of the job
Main duties for the post holder include:
* Dispensing activities including final accuracy checks of pharmacist clinically screened prescriptions (ACT once qualified).
* Supervise designated members of staff.
* Act as Practice or Educational Supervisor (as required) for designated pharmacy staff.
* Assist with the pharmacy stores and distribution services.
* Contribute to keeping the different clinical areas across the Trust within agreed budgets.

Person Specification
Experience
* Detailed knowledge/experience of working in a hospital dispensary
* Knowledge of the national pharmacy agenda
* Management of resources and delivery of services
* Minimum 2 years experience in a relevant clinical/dispensary setting
Qualifications
* Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures for specialist area acquired through training, NVQ3, BTEC in pharmaceutical science or equivalent
* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.

Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 a year pro rata for part time
