Typically, this person will assist in all aspects of newbuild marine vessels. You will be reviewing drawings and visiting shipyards in Europe. HSB Technical’s client is a very established and well-regarded business entity.
Duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Build Project Engineer:
1. Support the build team in all aspects of the build program.
2. Communicate effectively with management, crews, and various departments.
3. Offer technical assistance throughout the build process, both locally and remotely.
4. Travel globally to support FATs, SATs, HATs, and equipment and vessel commissioning.
5. Manage and maintain documentation.
6. Self-manage daily workflow to cover for senior team members when necessary.
7. Utilize a hybrid work model, combining office and onsite responsibilities.
Qualifications and requirements for the Assistant Build Project Engineer:
1. Essential background in mechanical or electrical engineering, preferably with experience as a sea-going engineer. (My client would consider 3rd / 4th Engineer)
2. Proficiency in understanding and interpreting structural and system line drawings.
3. Experience in dry dock and maintenance management, with a preference for shipbuilding.
4. Familiarity with planned maintenance systems.
5. Strong IT skills, particularly in AutoCAD, Project Planner, and Office 365.
