Our Public Sector Client based in Durham requires an Administration Support Officer. The role will be based in Tanfield Lea's area and will be running through to the end of March 2025, with the potential to extend, although not guaranteed. The hourly rate is £11.78 per hour. The role will be initially site based, however hybrid working is an option once fully trained. The purpose of the role is to: To provide a responsive, efficient and effective administrative and business support to Assessment & Awards and Payments Income & Support Teams and Finance & HR Services. To provide all aspects post receipting, scanning & indexing and post-dispatch for the Assessment & Awards and Payments Income & Support Teams and Finance & HR Services. To assist Finance & HR Services to achieve excellence in it's services to its customers, both internal and external. Duties and Responsibilities will include: 1. To provide an efficient and effective support service to the Assessment & Awards and Payments Income & Support Teams and Finance & HR Services. 2. Responsible for opening all post in accordance with legislative and procedural requirements. 3. Check the validity and accuracy of all documentation received and act upon this accordingly in a timely manner. 4. Responsible for the receipt of payments received via post in accordance with the Council's financial systems and processes. 5. Scan & reference all documentation as directed by procedural guidance. 6. Despatch all post and bulk print output as directed to by procedural guidance minimising the risk of data breach situations. 7. Provision of effective business support services processing orders, requisitions and invoices meeting Council standards. 8. Processing and monitoring staff allowances including car mileage and mobiles phones on behalf of specified services. 9. Assist with the allocation, monitoring and response to all Freedom of Information requests ensuring the agreed corporate response times are met. 10. Assist in the allocation, monitoring and response to all Corporate Complaints ensuring that agreed corporate timescales are met. We are looking for candidates who have previous Administration/Office Support experience and IT literacy when using MS Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
