We are seeking a dedicated SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join a Secondary School setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs and ensuring inclusive practice within the education environment.
Working hours would be: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:30AM-4PM
Salary: 24,702 - 26,873 per annum
Location: Stantonbury, Milton Keynes
Key Responsibilities Under the direction of the SENDCo:
1. Provide comprehensive administrative support to the SENDCo and the SEND team, acting as an effective link coordinating with outside agencies.
2. Work with the school community and external agencies to record and maintain accurate information and data relating to the SEND students.
3. Coordinate the administration/organisation of special exam arrangements for SEN students and full coordination with the exams assessment team.
4. Record and maintain the support strategies for targeted students and implement the dissemination of information to school staff/outside agencies.
Responsibility Areas:
1. Assist with coordinating the Learning Support Assistant timetable and deployment of the team, highlighting any absences and resolving problems as necessary.
2. Ensure the correct allocation of in-class support is in place for all SEND students in line with statutory requirements.
3. Assist with the review of student information with teaching staff in preparation for Requests for Statutory Assessments (RSAs), including diarising key dates and collating data.
4. Support SEND staff with referrals and liaise with external agencies as required.
5. Attend meetings to take minutes and produce/distribute them.
6. Provide administrative support as directed by senior SEND staff, including note-taking at meetings, arranging meetings, and maintaining school data systems.
7. Order stationery and resources as directed by the SENDCo.
Requirements:
* Experience working within an Education Setting
* Experience in working with children with special educational needs, including behaviour management and speech therapy
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with parents, external agencies, and colleagues
* IT proficient in MS Office and Google software
