Title: Sheet Metal Worker
Reports To: General Manager
Summary
Sheet metal workers design, fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal products. In fabrication work, sheet metal workers lay out and measure pieces to specifications. They cut and shape material and assemble and join the pieces with various techniques such as welding and using mechanical fasteners.

Job Duties
* Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products and components according to specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
* Use various tools, such as shears, brakes, and punches to cut, shape and form sheet metal into desired shapes and sizes.
* Weld, solder, or rivet sheet metal parts to join them together and create a finished product.
* Install sheet metal products and components, including ductwork, HVAC systems, and roofing, following established installation techniques and procedures.
* Measure, mark and lay out work pieces using measuring tools and equipment, such as callipers, rulers, and squares, to ensure accurate dimensions and fit.
* Inspect and test finished products and components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
* Identify and troubleshoot issues or defects in sheet metal products or installations and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area, including properly storing tools and equipment, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
* Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries while working with sheet metal.
* Collaborate with other team members, such as engineers, architects, and project managers, to ensure projects are completed on time and meet client requirements.
* Other assigned work as required.
Requirements
* High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
* Previous experience as a sheet metal worker or similar role
* Strong knowledge or different types of sheet metal materials and their properties
* Ability to operate tools, machinery and equipment used in sheet metal fabrication such as shears, brakes, punches, drill presses and CNC equipment
* Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
* Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
* Ability to work independently in a busy environment
* Solid interpersonal skills
* Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
* Able to work well under pressure
* Strong attention to detail
Work Conditions
* 24/7 availability may be required
* Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
* Travel to off-site locations as work requires
* Manual dexterity required to use power and hand tools
* Frequently noisy working environment
* Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
* Overtime as required
