AWE is recruiting a Resource Manager to join the P3M People Capability team to enable the successful delivery of the AWE mission by ensuring Portfolio, Programme & Project resources are available to meet requirements within function or within a programme. Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking. Package: Starting from £48,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience). Let us introduce the role As the Resource Manager, you will partner with specific projects within our enterprise portfolio, to give full support on resourcing strategy to meet our business goals and future requirements. You will lead on establishing and delivering innovative solutions to project-specific resourcing challenges, supporting recruitment and resource deployment via the central enabling P3M function, and covering the full range of resourcing options, including future skills development and utilisation of our delivery partnerships. You will be responsible for understanding and articulating the full resource picture for your assigned projects, supporting them in line with company processes, delivering data insights and continuous improvement activities, and feeding into and monitoring progress against our top-level people strategy. In the role you will: Assess and plan future P3M Function resource requirements based on projected work, capability, impact of pipeline and levels of attrition, driving efficiencies and utilisation in line with budget. Proactively liaise with Delivery Programme Leaders, Resourcing Partners and HR Business Partners (HRBP) to understand requirements and facilitate effective resourcing decisions. Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player. Who are we looking for? We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in resource management, ideally with experience in Project Management or Project Controls. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strategic resource management/workforce planning experience with the ability to think strategically. This role involves working with and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels both internal and external. You should be c onfident in compiling presentations and presenting to peers and Senior Managers. IT skills, including MS Office applications are required. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Working with key stakeholders to deal with escalated resourcing issues and enable decisions on conflicting demands. Identification, assessment, and planning for future resource requirements based on analysis of management information, resource strategies and changing demand. Proactively engage with other functional stakeholders, share best practice and identify efficiencies across the enterprise portfolio. Provide advice to and support the delivery of a project or programme resource plan. Support the delivery of the P3M Function resource plan, including capturing any changes to the resources available or the demand. Provide ongoing support relating to recruitment and resource deployment for the delivery programmes. Maintain an overview of the P3M resources deployed across the enterprise portfolio. Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we’d like you to have experience in some of the following: Stakeholder management and relationship building skills. Clear and concise communication approach both oral and written, at multiple levels. The ability to analyse, manipulate, and interpret and present people and/or financial data. Experience within a matrix organisation and/or working with delivery partners. Project management experience or experience supporting project, programme or portfolio management. Experience in a people related role, and specifically in resource management. You’ll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload.
