Job Opportunity: Maintenance Engineer (Upgrade Project for COMAH Site)
Location: Immingham, UK
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to work on a hands-on upgrade project at an established COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) site. The role offers the chance to work on crucial projects in the chemical and energy sectors, particularly in areas such as hydrogen production and other new energy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide and implement solutions for maintaining and replacing obsolete or aging plant assets to improve operational efficiency and safety.
* Design and execute projects for production plants and processes, ensuring they meet the current and future business needs.
* Develop, design, and implement new projects to enhance plant functionality and performance.
* Manage project engineering for site developments, including overseeing feasibility studies, scope definition, cost estimation, timelines, and resource allocation.
* Ensure that all projects align with business objectives and drive operational efficiency.
* Oversee the commissioning of equipment, ensuring a smooth transition and proper handover to site teams.
* Conduct training for operatives and maintenance technicians on new equipment and processes to ensure safe and effective operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Possess a HNC or degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
* Have 3-5 years of experience in process/mechanical design or operational experience with compressed gases.
* Strong knowledge and application of project safety review techniques, including HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), to ensure compliance and manage risks effectively.
* Demonstrated expertise in project engineering and execution, particularly in the energy and chemical industries.
