Geotechnical Engineer
I am looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with extensive design experience to join a growing team in Motherwell, alongside the established civil/structural department. This role supports the wider Geotechnical team across the UK for a large-scale engineering design consultancy.
Due to an increase in workload, specifically across Scotland, the Geotechnical team is expanding with a Geotechnical Engineer to help with growth and deliverables for a range of projects in the rail and electrification/power sector across the UK. This position offers a diverse range of geology, rock hazards, and ground conditions that will make your portfolio very interesting.
Your work as a Geotechnical Engineer will consist of writing/reviewing desk studies, risk assessments, foundation assessments, piling/earthworks specifications, as well as designing across all aspects of slopes, foundations, and walls.
As a Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you should be able to demonstrate:
1. A degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology (or equivalent).
2. Progress toward chartered status (ICE, GeolSoc, or IMMM).
3. Ability to use a range of geotechnical software/FE for the design of civil engineering projects including deep and shallow foundations (including pile group analysis), embedded and gravity retaining walls, earthworks/slope stability, and reinforced earthworks.
4. Knowledge of Eurocodes, CDM regulations, and health & safety standards.
