Job title: Assistant Health Physicist
Job Type: Contract
Start date: ASAP - Subject to clearance
Duration: 12 months
Salary/ Pay rate/ Benefits: £29.88 PAYE
Location: Preston
Hours of work: Up to 40 hours per week
Applicants must have experience of the following:
1. Degree qualified or equivalent in a scientific discipline
2. Demonstrable knowledge of the UK legislations regarding ionising radiation (IRR17, CDG19, REPPIR)
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
4. Strong understanding of radiation protection within the nuclear industry
Ideally applicants should also have:
1. Knowledge and understanding of instrumentation for nuclear operations such as waste disposal and recycling
2. Experience in radiation protection instrumentation
Role information:
1. Support RPA's and health physicists in providing Radiological Health and Safety advice
2. Oversee compliance for activities across all site operations
3. Deliver Radiation Safety training courses to personnel on site
4. Investigate Radiological incidents and undertake corrective action
5. Review internal and external dosimetry data
6. Undertake radiation risk assessments
