Camphill Wellbeing Trust is a Scottish charity supporting the wellbeing of patients and their families through an integrated, person-centred approach to health, education and social care. Its clinical team extend conventional medicine with a holistic approach to offer individualised therapeutic programmes that:
address illness
build resilience
maintain wellbeing
The Trust receives referrals from throughout North East Scotland and further afield but also accepts self -referrals.
Its headquarters is in Bieldside but in late 2020 took on a large site at Craigton Road for its community -orientated Compass project. The site had been vacant for over 6 years, was overgrown and had 5 dilapidated buildings. The Trust has raised enough money to sustainably refurbish one of the buildings, a former gym hall, into a multi-functional community space which has just opened. The surrounding grounds have been transformed by staff and over 10,000 volunteer hours into productive organic food growing areas and biodiverse woodlands. There remains huge development potential for the future, funds allowing and with the right management in place. Between HQ and Compass is the Trust’s charity shop. All 3 sites will be under the management of the new Chief Operating Officer.
This role will take over the operational running of the charity from the CEO, Dr Aileen Primrose, who’s been with the charity for 22 years, allowing her to take on a more strategic role. It will be the second most senior post overseeing all functions including HR, finance, facilities and operations.
We are looking for someone who has been in a similar role and has overseen growth and expansion within their organisation. You will have to have a broad range of skills and support the CEO and Board in devising a strategy that fits with their ethos, mission and potential. You will enjoy significant authority and autonomy in this role alongside your responsibilities and will have the satisfaction of being part of work which transforms people’s lives on a daily basis. You will spend each day at one if not more of the three sites, immersed in the people who bring Camphill Wellbeing Trust to life. You need to be a people person as well as a skilled professional.
If this sounds like you and you’d love to join this charity as one of it’s most important and influential stakeholders, then please email us at to request an information pack, full role description and person specification.
