Senior Ethics & Independence Analyst
Base Location: Leeds, Manchester or Birmingham

The Ethics and Independence (E&I) team are part of the Risk Operations Group (ROG) within the Operational Excellence Hub (OEH) which is responsible for monitoring the firm’s and its individuals’ compliance with the firm’s professional risk management and quality control policies, procedures, and guidance. Furthermore, the Group work with the wider Quality and Risk community and across the KPMG network to exchange knowledge, develop and improve processes and procedures in response to emerging regulatory, business, and other requirements.
The Personal E&I team are responsible for a number of processes and procedures in order to demonstrate oversight of compliance in accordance with firm/regulatory policy such as clearance of the firm’s personnel and third-party resource for on-boarding and issuing mandatory E&I training in line with global requirements. They provide guidance and advice to partners, firm’s personnel and third-party resource on personal independence matters and are the first point of contact for personal E&I related requests, completing the necessary research in order to escalate/ respond in accordance with firm/regulatory policy.
What will you be doing?
This role has responsibility for supporting the Assistant Manager with a focus on delivering excellent quality across our service catalogue. With the help of management, this role will support personal E&I activities with a right first-time approach and continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for helping train and coach the team to ensure full compliance with the regulations, policy and procedures relating to E&I. You will consult with relevant E&I colleagues assisting with queries and issues as they arise. Where lessons learnt are identified, you will root cause and help to improve processes by recommending and applying enhancements to increase understanding and quality.
1. Assisting the management team and providing SME support to the E&I team
2. Identify any issues in E&I tasks and ensure they are escalated and recorded in the correct manner, reporting to the Personal E&I manager
3. Assist with ongoing training and development of the Personal E&I team
4. Ensure tasks are completed in accordance with the applicable regulations and existing guidance and within the service level agreements
5. Assign relevant E&I tasks to the firm’s personnel and third-party resource and monitoring completion using firms internal training, compliance and HR systems and Microsoft Office
6. Have excellent working knowledge and comprehensive understanding of applicable personal independence rules
7. Responding to queries and clearing E&I exceptions based on personal independence requirements
8. Liaising with the onboarding team to help resolve any escalations and issues driving quality
9. Assisting with mailboxes and E&I helpline escalations and queries
10. Generating management reports and analytics
11. Assisting other E&I team members with wider compliance programmes, where required
12. Assisting the E&I manager with E&I related projects such as confirmation exception clearance
What will you need to do it?

25. Prior working experience in personal compliance is desired but not essential
