South Tees Early Intervention for Psychosis Service is looking to recruit a full time Trainee Systemic Family Therapist. The post will be based in Middlesbrough, covering Middlesbrough, Redcar and East Cleveland.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Early Intervention for Psychosis team in a therapy delivery role with training and development built into the post.
Main duties of the job
Applicants will be required to have either RMN or equivalent mental health core qualification and be registered with a professional regulatory body, with the role requiring completion and passing of an Association of Family Therapy (AFT) accredited Systemic Family Therapy foundation course.
They will also have significant experience delivering psychological informed interventions to people experiencing severe mental health problems in a secondary care setting. Training and experience delivering behavioural family therapy for psychosis would be highly relevant experience.
In addition, a strong demonstrable interest in Systemic Family Therapy and a willingness to engage in further study and practice towards eventual accreditation as a Systemic Family Therapist and competencies in Family Intervention for Psychosis is essential.
During the course of training, a placement outside the Teesside locality may be required. There will be no costs for further training incurred by the individual; however, the offer of trainee post to the successful applicant will be contingent on acceptance (or working towards acceptance) onto the next level accredited training course.
On successfully achieving accreditation as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist with UK Council for Psychotherapy, the post holder would be upgraded to a Band 7 Psychological Therapist job description, role and salary.
