Job Description Maintenance Engineer Our client based in the Craigavon area have a requirement for a Maintenance engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. Call Conor O ’ Hagan for more details DAY SHIFT – Mon to Friday Excellent Package available depending on experience overtime The Role: The primary focus is on ensuring the maximum uptime on machinery whilst ensuring the machinery runs consistently to the highest tolerances and minimum waste. The position will be Day S hift Pattern Mon – Fri Duties include: Carry out schedule-based maintenance work on equipment, buildings and services and repairs, overhauls, and installations as appropriate. General maintenance and breakdown activities, resolving causes of defects for allocated cell/area. Fault find electrical and/ or mechanical faults, repair equipment in a breakdown situation. Deliver sufficient callout support and detailed handovers to ensure reliability and performance of the plant’s machinery in line with agreed service levels. Proactively identify and deal rectify potential equipment/services issues. Work with other departments/areas as part of the manufacturing team to ensure efficient running of the equipment and prioritize work as agreed. Apply modern maintenance techniques, to allow potential failures to be identified and eliminated or reduced as quickly as possible. S upport and drive a strong proactive maintenance culture to ensure the site ’ s KPI metrics and targets are met and creating a climate that relentlessly strives for downtime minimisation, excellence, and continuous improvement. Working with the Engineering management to develop procedures to ensure “right first time” including a robust preventative maintenance programme. Provide Production with engineering & technical support to existing manufacturing processes and equipment to maximum uptime. Optimise equipment performance and suggest, investigate, and provide solutions for potential process improvements while liaising with Manufacturing i.e. planning. Provide practical problem solving and technical support for engineering projects and solutions. Assist the Maintenance management with project management and long-term planning. Demonstrate good interpersonal skills that can contribute, lead and drive improvements in productivity levels throughout the plant. The Person: Time served qualification in Maintenance Engineering related discipline. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment. Proven successful experience in a similar role. Experience in servicing and repair of electrical, electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately across all levels of the company using written and spoken English. Experience in working in a high-volume production environment with automated machinery. Experience in electrical/mechanical fault finding, maintenance and installation. Experience in carrying out preventive maintenance on motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, rollers and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
