Sandwell Youth Service are looking for a Youth Bus Driver who has at least 2 years’ experience of driving large vehicles (buses, HGVs etc), and has the motivation to meet the aspirations of young people through delivering quality Youth Work via the Sandwell Youth Bus project.
About the role:
The successful applicant will drive our 2 youth buses and work with youth teams to deliver services, activities and projects to young people across Sandwell.
This will involve assistance with:
* Boarding and alighting from the vehicle
* Equipment, such as wheelchairs, lifts and restraints/safety belts
* Youth service equipment, such as laptops, games consoles, tables etc.
You will also conduct day-to-day maintenance on the vehicle, such as checking tyres, lights, brakes, water & oil and ensuring that the vehicle is clean and that any safety or maintenance concerns are reported.
About you:
Youth work is a rewarding role where you have the opportunity to empower young people to engage with the social issues and choices that govern their lives. We are looking for you to have experience with young people and a positive and motivational outlook. Good communication skills and a relatable, flexible approach are key as you build constructive relationships with our service users.
Requirements:
Clean Category D and D1 Licence or PCV licence.
Drivers Licence must not have any unspent endorsements.
PLEASE NOTE: The post will only be offered subject to the candidate passing a driving assessment on one of the Youth Bus vehicles.
