Retail Finance Manager
RETAIL FINANCE MANAGER | HIGH WYCOMBE
We're looking for a fabulous Finance Manager to join our finance team and play a key role in managing and developing a team to ensure high standards of cost accounting, reporting and forecasting, interpreting results and trends to deliver insight to the business to assist in decision making and effective cost management.
Reporting to the Head of Financial Control & Reporting you will be pivotal within the Finance team driving and delivering the transformation strategy.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
1. Promote a strong cost control culture and enhance the visibility and analysis of key costs to facilitate more efficient management.
2. Lead the team in delivering month-end process, preparing and analysing month-end profit and loss statements with insightful variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year.
3. Drive a strong business partnering ethos in the team taking ownership for conducting monthly meetings with head of departments to discuss results, risks and opportunities.
4. Take the lead in driving a more efficient and data-driven department. This involves implementing streamlined processes, leveraging technology for routine tasks, and fostering a culture that values data-driven decision-making.
5. Take responsibility for providing the monthly flash forecast and delivering the annual budget and quarterly forecast, including reviewing and challenging relevant budget holders.
6. Ensure strict adherence to group policies by overseeing day-to-day business cost management and reporting and maintaining strong balance sheet controls.
7. Take ownership of IFRS16 compliance, maintaining robust accounting and budgetary controls, and serving as the primary contact for Group Finance regarding the lease accounting.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
1. ACCA/CIMA qualified or qualified by experience, ideally Retail or FMCG background
2. Strong core accounting and technical skills
3. Previous experience of working in a similar role, delivering efficiencies and cost control
4. Demonstrable experience of managing and developing a team of part qualified studiers
5. Experience in one of more top ERP system, preferably Oracle Financials
6. Excellent proficiency in Excel and prior use of Data Warehouse
7. Knowledge of IFRS16 would be desirable
