Key Responsibilities
* Take full accountability for the day-to-day management of the 2-bed home, ensuring high-quality care delivery.
* Lead and motivate a small team to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of young people.
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted SCIFF standards, relevant legislation, and organisational policies.
* Drive innovation by developing new approaches to care that promote independence and well-being.
* Manage budgets, monitor financial transactions, and maintain the home's physical resources.
* Oversee admissions, discharges, and accurate record-keeping for residents and staff.
* Handle on-call responsibilities and occasional sleep-in shifts to support rota shortfalls.
* Collaborate with external agencies, professionals, and commissioners to enhance care provision.
* Chair internal and external meetings, preparing concise reports to sustain quality standards.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience as a Deputy Manager ready to advance or a Registered Manager in a children's home setting.
* Strong background in leading teams and supporting vulnerable young people with diverse needs.
* Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and legislation (e.g., Ofsted SCIFF, Health & Safety).
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it with support).
* Full UK driving licence and access to appropriate transport.
* Flexibility to manage on-call duties and sleep-ins as required.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce evaluative reports.
* Emotional resilience to handle challenging behaviours and maintain professional boundaries.
