Key Responsibilities Take full accountability for the day-to-day management of the 2-bed home, ensuring high-quality care delivery. Lead and motivate a small team to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of young people. Ensure compliance with Ofsted SCIFF standards, relevant legislation, and organisational policies. Drive innovation by developing new approaches to care that promote independence and well-being. Manage budgets, monitor financial transactions, and maintain the home's physical resources. Oversee admissions, discharges, and accurate record-keeping for residents and staff. Handle on-call responsibilities and occasional sleep-in shifts to support rota shortfalls. Collaborate with external agencies, professionals, and commissioners to enhance care provision. Chair internal and external meetings, preparing concise reports to sustain quality standards. Candidate Requirements Proven experience as a Deputy Manager ready to advance or a Registered Manager in a children's home setting. Strong background in leading teams and supporting vulnerable young people with diverse needs. Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and legislation (e.g., Ofsted SCIFF, Health & Safety). Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it with support). Full UK driving licence and access to appropriate transport. Flexibility to manage on-call duties and sleep-ins as required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce evaluative reports.
