HMT Sancta Maria Hospital are currently looking for a Nurse (RGN) to join our friendly and dedicated Ward team. This is an exciting time to join the team at Sancta Maria Hospital, a state-of-the-art hospital situated in the SA1 area of Swansea.
We are only private hospital in Swansea offering a wide range of procedures carried out by a number of our leading consultants. As a not-for-profit organisation, Sancta Maria hospital is passionate about putting the patient first and we are committed to developing a five-star hospital which will set new standards in clinical care and patient experience in South West Wales.
The successful candidate will work within a small, friendly and dynamic team. The ward has 24 beds consisting of 12 inpatient beds and 12 day unit beds. We provide care for elective surgical patients undergoing a vast range of specialities including Orthopaedic, Cosmetic and general surgery. The ward offers a mix of long and short shifts covering days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Sancta Maria Hospital recognises the importance of education and development. We were awarded the title of Private Sector of the Year which was voted by the nursing students at Swansea University. As a qualified nurse you will act as a Practice Assessor and/or Practice supervisor to nursing students at all stages of their nurse training, encouraging them to reach their full potential as they embark on becoming the future generation of nurses.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to provide high standards of direct patient care to a variety of different surgical patients within the ward/day unit environment. Enhancing patient care, while developing specific clinical competencies and enhancing own knowledge through a lifelong learning approach. Working under the guidance of the Head of Patient Care and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of nursing care as part of the ward team.
The post holder will be accountable for their nursing practice, adhere to the policies and protocols of HMT and the NMC.
