Job Title: Year 5 Class Teacher
Contract Type: Maternity Cover
Contract Duration: November 2024 - June 2025
Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 5 Class Teacher to join a South Gloucestershire based primary school on a maternity cover basis, starting in November 2024 and finishing in June 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for full teaching responsibilities, including lesson planning, preparation, and leading parent evenings. PPA time will be provided to support planning and assessment.
Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons for Year 5 students.
Develop lesson plans tailored to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
Assess, record, and report on the progress and attainment of students.
Organise and lead parent evenings and meetings to discuss student progress.
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental and school-wide activities.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Strong and in-depth knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
Strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment methods.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
