Community Fundraising Officer, Charity, up to c£23k + benefits
Fantastic opportunity for an articulate and well-organised customer service or community fundraising professional with excellent customer/supporter care skills to join this national charity. The role can be based out of London or East Anglia offices, though there is a significant opportunity for home working. Candidates will need to be accessible to one of these offices as required. Working within a hugely supportive team, you will report to the Community Fundraising Manager who leads a small team that will mentor you in your professional development. You will work closely with two other Community Fundraising Officers, office volunteers, and colleagues across the charity, particularly the Head of Marketing and the Engagement Team, to develop successful supporter recruitment campaigns. You will also work with the Communications team to gain press coverage of supporters’ fundraising activities and achievements. The post-holder will also work closely with the Fundraising Administrator to ensure the smooth coordination of fundraising enquiries and sign-up processes. Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Managing relationships with volunteer fundraisers, providing high-quality support and stewardship to increase participant numbers and maximise amounts raised.
2. Co-developing and delivering the charity’s portfolio of volunteer fundraising activities, including the project management of specific activities, the development of bespoke events, and managing relationships with external event providers.
3. Developing excellent supporter journeys, fundraising resources, and stewardship communications to maximise supporter numbers, retention, and engagement.
4. Developing multi-channel marketing communications, initiatives, and content with the fundraising and marketing and communication teams to promote specific fundraising activities as well as “do it yourself fundraising,” in celebration and in memory fundraising.
5. Using the charity’s CRM systems to accurately capture fundraiser information and relationships, contributing to the development and implementation of fundraising processes.
6. Monitoring and reporting on return on investment and key performance indicators of income generation in line with projections.
7. Following sector best practices, including abiding by the organisation’s policies regarding Data Protection, Vulnerable Supporters, Ethical Fundraising, and Safeguarding. Always abide by charity and data protection laws, providing advice to volunteer fundraisers when necessary.
8. Contributing to the development of fundraising strategy and budgeting.
9. Representing the charity at relevant fundraising events as appropriate.
10. Communicating proactively and effectively with team members to pass on all relevant leads, deliver excellent donor care, and maximise fundraising opportunities.
