Responsible for growth and expansion of direct sales and profit margins within assigned accounts and/or territory/region on products or services. Establishes professional relationships with key personnel in customer accounts. Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and margin dollars.
Postcode area to cover ST, DE, NG, LN, DN, S, HD, WF and LS (East Midlands, Yorkshire).
1. Visit periodically existing and new customers, access their needs and characteristics. Present appropriate products, solutions and services.
2. Analyze and assess customer and territory sales trends constantly and report periodically. Plan sales activity based on territory needs to ensure that territory attains or exceeds assigned monthly, quarterly and/or annual sales goals.
3. Maintain regular contact with existing customers to strengthen relationships and ensure satisfaction with products, solutions and services offered; implement and monitor creative marketing activities aimed at expanding/growing core business.
4. Identify and maintain regular contact with prospective customers; develop and implement creative strategies aimed at converting these prospective customers from competition to a new customer.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with key influential thought leaders. Utilize these relationships to expand market share.
6. Develop and maintain accurate customer files and records in the CRM system in order to have complete and up-to-date customer information and adopt an effective activity planning, which can be shared among the (local) organization.
7. Report to the management about any product issues, loss or potential loss of key customers, or competitive sales strategies that negatively or positively affect local sales.
8. Study and stay informed on products, technologies, clinical studies, competitive activity, and other general information of interest to company or to customers. Present and promote courses and events of the organization and apply this knowledge for your strategies and tactics to develop your commercial activity based on consultative selling.
9. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all company policies and procedures and demonstrate the ability to effectively implement them at the territory level.
10. Establish and maintain a travel schedule that will allow consistent contact with existing and potential customers.
11. Manage assigned geographical territory within allocated expense budget.
12. Complete all administrative paperwork in a timely manner.
13. Participate in (inter-)national and local trade shows and company meetings as appropriate.
Job Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Critical Knowledge:
1. Equivalent educational level: Undergraduate degree in business or science related fields.
Critical Skills:
1. Demonstrated ability to digest, comprehend, and verbalize highly technical product and clinical information related to company and industry products.
2. Demonstrated professional sales skills in promoting products and added values.
3. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Basic to intermediate computer skills.
Critical Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of achievement oriented sales experience within a dental or medical devices industry or equivalent experience with direct competition or a minimum of 4 years in achievement oriented sales, preferably in the medical device field.
