Are you an experienced neonatal nurse with a passion for Family Centred Care? If the answer is yes, this could be a fabulous opportunity for you to help embed family centred care in our local neonatal unit.
The Neonatal Unit at Wexham Park Hospital is a Level 2 Neonatal Unit made up of 2 Intensive Care, 3 High Dependency, and 12 Special Care cots. The unit cares for babies over 26+6 weeks gestation and stabilises any baby under that gestation to be transferred to a tertiary hospital/NICU.
Our team aspires to provide high quality and evidence-based clinical, developmental, and family integrated care in order to ensure the best outcomes for our babies and their families. We are actively involved in the Thames Valley and Wessex Neonatal Network and participate in several work groups to standardise and improve care.
The post holder will fulfil a key role within the unit and will ensure that the Family Integrated Care ethos is embedded within the service. They will play a key role in optimising the clinical environment using a Family Integrated Care (FiCare) framework such as the BAPM Framework for Practice, providing resources for staff, parents, and their families. They will collaborate with Allied Health Professions (AHP) teams, nurse education teams, clinical psychology leads, bereavement/chaplaincy teams, and infant feeding liaison on FiCare education, teaching, and training.
