The IT Analyst is responsible for the installation of computer systems, ensuring that backup systems operate effectively, purchasing hardware and software, providing the ICT technology infrastructures for the organization, and contributing to organizational policy with regard to quality standards and strategic planning.
Reporting Relationships:
The IT Analyst reports directly to the IT Manager, Noranco Canada, with a dotted line reporting relationship to the General Manager.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate user needs and system functionality.
2. Responsible for the smooth running of all ICT facilities to ensure they meet the needs of individuals and projects (including anti-virus software, print services, and email provision).
3. Ensure that software licensing laws are adhered to and that all systems are secure from internal and external attacks.
4. Operate within IT budget; source competitive prices from suppliers, where appropriate, to ensure cost effectiveness.
5. Research and install new systems.
6. Provide secure access to the network for remote users; provide users with appropriate support and advice.
7. Manage crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems.
8. Keep up to date with the latest technologies; schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems as required.
9. Ensure backups of critical systems and validate restore process in case of disaster scenario.
10. All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of programming or systems analysis required.
Required Experience:
1-3 years of experience as an Analyst or Administrator in a Manufacturing Environment.
Level of Education:
Post-Secondary Education in IT or related field.
