Care Assistant

We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate agency staff to join our team as Care Assistants for care home shifts in Cromer, Norfolk. Role Description
As a Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our client’s residents during your shifts. You will deliver care in accordance with individual care plans, support residents with personal care, and ensure their safety throughout the day and night. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal care, administering medication, monitoring residents’ safety, and maintaining accurate records. You will foster a compassionate and respectful environment while working under the supervision of the care home manager and in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver personalised care tailored to residents’ individual needs
2. Administer medication and ensure adherence to care plans
3. Assist residents with mobility and positioning as required
4. Monitor residents’ safety and respond promptly to any emergency situations
5. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of care provided
7. Conduct thorough handovers to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
1. Previous experience in a care role within a residential or care home setting
2. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred)
3. Knowledge of CQC standards and regulations
4. Strong communication skills
5. Empathy, patience, and a commitment to maintaining resident dignity
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Skills and Experience
1. Experience with medication administration and record-keeping
2. Familiarity with care planning and risk assessments
3. Ability to handle emergency situations with calm and efficiency
4. Strong organisational and time-management skills
Working Hours
This is an agency position with varying hours. Shifts typically run for 12 hours, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Flexibility may be required to meet the needs of our residents.
