An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone who is enthusiastic and passionate about patient safety and the management of medicines.
This is a challenging and rewarding role involving the development, education, leadership and support of healthcare professionals working with medicines across the central secondary care site and liaising with other sites and teams across the Health Board.
You should be self-motivated with excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with and influence senior clinical staff, members of the multidisciplinary team across all directorates of the site. You will need to develop good working relationships between nursing, pharmacy and other clinical staff and be able to influence, design and implement improvement in medicines management practices.
Main duties of the job
You must have a comprehensive understanding of current medicines management initiatives within the NHS modernisation agenda and also an understanding of legislation governing medicines management, e.g. Patient Group Directions and Non-Medical Prescribing.
