Job Title: Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) CT Senior Radiographer
Main Place of Work: Work will be based at several sites within a nominated key geographical region where the TLHC services operate. This role is not considered a mobile role due to no requirement for travel outside the nominated region.
Responsible to: TLHC Operations Manager/CT and PET/CT Manager (as allocated on employment)
Accountable to: Chief Executive, Cobalt Health Line management. There is no line management responsibility associated with this post.
However, there is an expectation that this senior position will supervise radiographers, students and other junior staff members working as part of their team at nominated sites.
Job Purpose: Provide professional, caring, high quality CT scanning services as part of the TLHC programme whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism and technical standard of work, complying with relevant Codes of Practice and radiographic technique. Responsible for the daily operations and delivery of TLHC services at nominated key locations within a region supporting the TLHC operations manager and director of clinical operations. To ensure the privacy, comfort and safety of all patients who attend the TLHC services in various locations where CT mobile services operate.
Key Relationships: Cobalt staff team, mobile site staff, logistics, support engineers and patients.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
1. Operational Duties: Maintain positive partnerships with NHS Hospitals and TLHC programme teams on behalf of Cobalt and ensure continuity of TLHC services in various locations in the North West region of UK.
2. Key liaison with multidisciplinary TLHC teams in area of work and respond to clinical requests from consultant radiologists in accordance with NHSE TLHC National protocols for TLHC screening and surveillance.
3. Responsible for the organisation and smooth running of day to day scanning lists.
4. Undertake imaging procedures working to set standards and protocols in accordance with best practice.
5. Providing physical and emotional support to patients throughout their attendance.
6. Data entry using radiology information systems (RIS) and ensuring accurate medical records are maintained.
7. Responsible for Quality Assurance checks on ionising radiation equipment.
8. Ensure a clean, safe and appropriate environment that facilitates the prevention and control of infections.
9. Support the clinical department managers with workflow/process improvements.
10. Manage clinical audits and generate KPI reports.
11. Supervise clinical induction and safety education for personnel.
Any other duties in accordance with the level of the role.
Management of Resources:
1. Monitor and maintain laundry supplies and clinical consumables.
2. Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies of stationery and marketing literature on the TLHC units.
