BWGM have an excellent opportunity for a Construction Manager to join our Projects division on a permanent basis covering various sites throughout the Southern Water or United Utilities frameworks based in England. As the Construction Manager you will plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. Reporting into the Contracts Delivery Manager, the Construction Manager will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the projects. Main Duties Managing and coordinating the projects construction teams to ensure delivery of project deliverables on time, within budget and to the highest standard. Ensure effective management of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance for all projects during both phases of pre-construction & construction. Building relationships with the internal teams, the client, and other relevant contractors on site and communicate effectively between all parties. Support the pre-construction team, along with the Senior Project Managers in the development of projects through to construction. Oversee and manage any construction and commissioning risks initiating corrective action where necessary. Plan resource and identify the workload of current and new projects with the assistance of the Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Senior Programme Planner. Contribute to the effective management of internal skills and resource requirements, where it is effective, efficient and when necessary, sub-contract packages set up to achieve successful delivery of all projects. Provide feedback to the pre-construction team at all stages of construction and commissioning. Contribute and help to ensure that success throughout all projects is achieved by delivering the programme on time, with minimal delays that effect the pre-agreed completion dates. Seek to recruit staff within the team in line with progressive forecasting of all projects and as per the strategic projects’ org structure. Reporting daily/weekly to the Projects Director and Contracts Delivery Manager on key aspects of progress issues and concerns at bWGM and client level. To be considered for this position you will have at least 3-5 years previous experience within a similar level managerial role and ideally be qualified within an engineering discipline. Previous experience of the water or wastewater industry would be beneficial for this position Due to the nature of the role travel to various sites throughout the country is required so a valid UK driving license is essential.
