SEMH Mentor Hammersmith and Fulham Jan 2025 - ASAP Start Veritas are working with a secondary school situated in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham who are looking for a SEMH Mentor (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) to join the team. The children within the school have challenging behaviour and are from difficult backgrounds - so it is essential you are understanding and direct towards their academic progress. They require an SEMH Mentor who is able to support individuals who has social, emotional and mental health (SEMH). The role may be challenging in regards to the pupils behaviour who are supported by the team however when progress is made it is rewarding process. It is important that you are capable to identify their weaknesses to support them accordingly and allocate targets towards their progress and EHCP (Educational Health Care Plan). You will be working alongside the class teacher and the school's SENCO (Special Education Needs Coordinator). The SEMH Mentor role will involve working in a fast-paced secondary school where student needs and behaviour challenges are high, so demands resilience, adaptability, and vigilance. The environment is ever-changing, requiring staff to stay alert and observant at all times to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students and the smooth running of the school day. The role brings gratification as you witness students overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve their goals against the odds.
