Post No. PE1055 - Support Officer (Environmental Health Housing)
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Environmental Health Housing team. The team is responsible for the regulation of the private rented sector, including Houses in Multiple Occupation, and resolving a range of domestic and commercial public health/environmental issues.
This role supports the Environmental Health Housing service by processing complaints from private sector tenants regarding housing conditions and completing the administration activities associated with the licensing of houses in multiple occupation.
This role includes supporting all officers within the team and undertaking administrative duties including speaking with customers, updating/maintaining records, sending letters and entering of data. In addition, the role may involve site work to check schedules of work that officers have issued to landlords and to check property tenure and occupation.
You will need to show you have experience in an administrative field and have good IT and communication skills. You will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above. The post requires you to demonstrate you have effective negotiation skills and be able to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with people. You will also need to show you have an ability to organise and prioritise to meet deadlines and handle high volumes of work.

Role Location - based at the Civic Centre, Newport, with the opportunity for hybrid office/home working.
