Our client is a well-established, ambulatory equine veterinary practice, based in the Hitchin area.

They now have an exciting new opportunity available at what is a key moment in the growth of the business. Reporting directly to the Practice Manager, you will be responsible for a large variety of tasks which are not limited to, but include the following:
1. Assisting the Practice Manager
2. Reconciling payments with the correct client accounts
3. Managing the insurance claim handling workflow
4. Liaison with other veterinary practices, hospitals and laboratories
5. Efficient, friendly handling of client enquiries throughout the day
6. Working with the admin team to manage fast-changing logistics and efficient routing of veterinary surgeons’ schedules in real time
7. Ensuring data on the Practice Management System is accurate and complete
8. Ensuring GDPR and data security/protection compliance
9. Implementing effective credit control
The ideal candidate will be someone who is honest, organised, uses common sense and has an excellent work ethic. They will be able to display great accuracy and attention to detail and it is essential that they demonstrate a very good standard of arithmetic and English as there will be a requirement to write professional letters and e-mails to a very high standard. As well as first class written skills, they will have an excellent telephone manner and both verbal and interpersonal communication skills. A good knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.
The successful candidate will support the core values of the practice and understand what it takes to deliver veterinary excellence. They will enjoy data analysis, reporting and forecasting management information, and working with KPIs. They will also be someone who can evidence their understanding and knowledge of horses and ponies and show an active interest in equestrian and countryside sports.
This position is a super opportunity for a positive, adaptable, enthusiastic self-starter who enjoys playing a proactive role within a committed, energetic and happy team. The hours of the role are 8.30am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
This is a Full-Time role with a salary of £26,000-£31,000 depending on experience, and the practice offers a generous benefits package and 22 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
