An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our friendly Therapies team in the Integrated Care Directorate at Velindre Cancer Centre on a part-time basis (18.75 hours per week). As a Generic Therapies Technician you will work across the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy services in order to support clinical service delivery and provide high quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
The post is based in the inpatient setting at Velindre Cancer Centre with the opportunity to provide a wide range of clinical support to a range of patients who are experiencing side effects from cancer and its treatments - fully supported by the qualified Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams. The role will involve working directly with cancer patients, completing reviews, monitoring, and advising patients as delegated by the Registered Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. The post holder will also be required to undertake clerical and administrative duties to support the teams as part of their role.
We are seeking a self-motivated, empathetic, and organised individual who is able to work both independently and under supervision, applying a flexible approach to their work and demonstrating good time management skills. The role will involve working with several clinical teams across the organisation and therefore strong and proven team working skills are required. Previous clinical experience of working as a Therapy assistant is preferred but training will be provided.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
