Long-Term Teachers is currently recruiting passionate and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on behalf of a welcoming and supportive special needs school in Paignton. This school, catering to students of secondary school age with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, is seeking resilient and dedicated individuals to join their team.

About the role:
As a HLTA in this nurturing environment, your primary responsibilities will include:
* Classroom cover: Delivering whole-class cover in the absence of the teacher or during PPA sessions
* Curriculum support: Assisting with planning and delivering a personalised curriculum that helps students thrive
* Behaviour management: Establishing and maintaining a safe, engaging and enjoyable learning environment, while managing challenging behaviour effectively
* Safeguarding: Upholding the school’s safeguarding and operational procedures

* Experience: Previous work in a secondary school setting and with SEMH students
* Skills: Excellent behaviour management, patience, resilience and adaptability
* Leadership: Confidence in leading classes and fostering a love for learning
* Commitment: Full time availability (monday to friday) and a proactive attitude
* Transport: A valid driving licence and access to your own car
